Bring your lesson content to life with the latest addition to the Sensei Pro suite of Interactive Blocks!

Interactive Blocks feature is available either as a standalone feature in Sensei Interactive Blocks, or a part of Sensei Pro plan.

Activating the Interactive Blocks feature

If you purchased Sensei Interactive Blocks, check out this documentation on activating your Sensei Interactive Blocks license.

If you purchased and activated Sensei Pro, Interactive Blocks is included and there is no additional activation required. If you haven’t activated Sensei Pro, please refer to this documentation on activating your Sensei Pro license.

Tutor AI Interactive Block

Starting with Sensei Pro 1.16.0, Interactive Blocks 1.4.0, you can add Tutor AI, the AI-driven interactive block. With Tutor AI interactive block, when a student encounters a question within their course, they can type their response, and Tutor AI will engage in a conversation with them. This means that students can have a dynamic conversation with their virtual tutor, just like they would with a human instructor.

Interactive Questions Block

Unlike Quiz Questions which you can only add inside a quiz, the Interactive Questions Block can be placed anywhere: inside a Lesson body, a post, page, and so on.

Interactive Question Block supports the following Question types:

• Multiple Choice
• True/False
• Gap Fill
• Single Line
• Ordering

Like Quiz Questions, you can show custom answer feedback for right and wrong answers.

Image Hotspot Block

A picture is worth a thousand words, and now you can add additional content to an image to help teach and engage.

Learners can interact with an image by clicking on the Hotspot. Text, videos, lists, headings, audio, and images can be added to each hotspot bubble as well.

Tasklist Block

Unlike a typical list on a website, the Tasklist block allows the user to check off the list items as they go. Good for recipes, trainings, lessons, and more.

In this example, we will share information about all of our new interactive blocks. Check them off as you read them!

• Complete customization options are available for all the blocks, including colors, borders, and styles to help them match any theme.

• Answers are stored in the local browser, but we don’t store any private user data or question answers in the website database.

• All blocks are built with accessibility and keyboard navigation in mind.

The Flashcard Block

Add flashcards to courses, landing pages, blog posts, and more. Useful for practice and highlighting important information.

You can add text, videos, images, embeds, and more to both sides of the card with the flashcard block. These make them versatile and a good fit for almost any teaching or content purpose.

Despite its minimalist design, the flashcard allows color customization for each side. At the bottom, you’ll find two labels:

• On the left – Card Front/Card Back. These labels are purely informational, designed to indicate which side of the flashcard the student is viewing. Card Front always refers to the default side shown first, typically containing the question or prompt. Card Back reveals the answer or explanation when the card is flipped
• At the center – Flip Card. The Flip Card label appears at the center of the card and functions as an interactive button. When clicked or tapped, it flips the card to reveal the opposite side (e.g., the question (Card Front) or the answer (Card Back).

Accordion Block

Designed to minimize distractions and keep learners focused, the accordion block integrates with Sensei’ Pro’s required content feature, ensuring that learners open all accordion items before completing the lesson.

To use Open by Default setting: make sure you disable the Auto Close toggle on the Accordion block

Make Interactive Content Required

Starting with Sensei Pro v.1.2.0, you can mark these Interactive Blocks as ‘required’ in a lesson. Required elements must be interacted with before a learner can complete the lesson.

Note: the new required features work with Interactive Video using YouTube, VideoPress, and Vimeo videos.

To make an Interactive Block required:

• Add the interactive block to your lesson content that you want to make required.
• In the editor, look for the * icon in the block toolbar. Then, just enable the setting, and Sensei takes care of the rest.
• For the learner, the ‘Complete Lesson’ button will be greyed out with information about how many required elements remain in the lesson.
• Sensei also adds a small circle icon to the side of required elements in the lesson and will show a checkmark in the circle once completed.
• Student progress is saved, so they can come back and finish a lesson later.
