What are the Requirements for using Sensei LMS?

To run the latest version of Sensei LMS, you will need:

  • PHP 7.3+
  • A recent version of WordPress (we support the last three major releases)

WordPress.org has more information on how to update your site’s version of PHP.

Memberships

Sensei LMS can be used in conjunction with WooCommerce Paid Courses and WooCommerce Memberships, to enable you to sell courses as part of a membership plan. See Selling Courses as a Membership for more details.

While there are third-party plugins that offer course memberships and integrate with Sensei LMS (e.g., Paid Memberships Pro), please note that our support policy does not cover integrations with third-party products or services.

Is there a free trial of Sensei Pro?

We don’t offer a free trial of Sensei Pro, but we do offer a full refund within 14 days of purchase if it doesn’t meet your needs.

I need my students to upload a file. Is there an Assignment feature?

Sensei LMS doesn’t actually have a built-in Assignments feature. However, if you need your students to upload files or documents, such as a PDF document, the File Upload question type enables them to do so. Supported file types are controlled by WordPress. Some examples include images, documents, audio, and video files.

Please note: this type of question can only be used when adding a Quiz block, and it does not offer the option to make it a Required question.

Articulate

Sensei LMS doesn’t interact with Articulate Storyline in any way, but there are plugins available that let you embed Articulate content into any post or lesson. This allows you to use Articulate Storyline content as the content of your lesson, and still use Sensei LMS for quizzes, grading etc. if you wish.

SCORM Support

Sensei LMS does not include built-in support for SCORM.

If you’d like to see SCORM support added to Sensei LMS, please add your vote to this feature request: Automattic/sensei#6679.

In the meantime, you can use a SCORM player plugin for WordPress to embed SCORM content into a Sensei lesson. While these plugins generally work, please note that we cannot guarantee full compatibility, and we do not recommend any specific third-party plugin for SCORM integration.

Exclude Sensei courses/lessons from search results

Some users prefer not to show Sensei courses and lessons in their site’s search results. While there isn’t a setting for that in Sensei LMS, you can use a plugin like Jetpack Search or Search Exclude to customize your search results.

Collaboration Requests 

We often get requests to collaborate with Sensei via guest postings on our site or as a business partner. At this time, we are not accepting collaboration or partnership requests.
