Learning Mode Template Blocks

Learning Mode comes with a few template blocks. These blocks help with layout needs and are suitable for creating or editing templates. They are not available on the post editor.

It is worth noting that these blocks are variations of a hidden generic ‘Interface Element’ block, with custom styling that determines each block’s unique layout behaviour.

Fixed Header

A simple header area that stays fixed on top of the screen. It comes with a Row inner block, so content that is usually a part of the header on your page can go here.

Two Column Layout

A layout block with a fixed left or right sidebar. By default, it comes with Main Content and Sidebar blocks as inner blocks. These have settings that allow the inner blocks to be removed but not moved around.

Sidebar Menu

This is a sidebar displayed as an overlay menu on mobile. A Sidebar Toggle block can be added to a Header block to allow opening and closing of the overlay on mobile. It comes with no predefined inner blocks, and blocks like Course Navigation are good options to place in this block.

Main Content

This block houses the main content area. It also comes with no inner blocks predefined. Post Title, Notices, and Post Content can go here as the main display area.

Spacer (Auto)

This is similar to the Spacer block. It automatically fills up the space between blocks.

Template Style

This block can only be seen in the site editor while list view is open, usually as the last block in the page. It can be edited by selecting the three dots next to the block in list view and clicking on Edit as HTML and styles specific to that template only can be added/edited here. It is helpful when it is necessary to isolate template styles and not have them ‘leak’ into other templates or pages.

Content Footer

This is a simple navigation area below the content of the page.

Video Container

This a container for a video with a Sidebar. Its inner blocks consist of a core Video block and a Sidebar.
