Common Questions
Do you have a free trial?
Many of Sensei’s features can be experienced in the free Sensei LMS plugin, so we don’t offer a free trial.
Does Sensei host videos?
Sensei is not a video host. However, you can add videos from many sources to a course or a lesson.
We recommend VideoPress for managing videos you add to a course. VideoPress is a sister company of Sensei (also owned by Automattic), and we make sure all of our video features and tools work great with it.
Our ‘Interactive Videos’ block and our feature to require videos to be played to complete a lesson also work with videos embedded from YouTube and Vimeo.
Do I need a WordPress theme for Sensei?
Sensei works great with any WordPress theme.
However, we’ve created a free Course theme that we recommend you try as you get started.
Course theme is built specifically for Sensei and Sensei features in mind. This theme can be installed automatically for free when you install Sensei, during our onboarding wizard.
Should I start with Free or Pro?
You can start with the Free plugin and upgrade to Pro at any time.
Does Sensei work in WordPress Multisite?
Sensei LMS works great in WordPress Multisite. A Sensei Pro license is for one site only, but our Agency license can be used on a Multisite.
What languages does Sensei support?
Both Sensei LMS and Sensei Pro can be translated into any language.
The free Sensei LMS plugin is translated by community members into 18 languages, and we welcome contributions to improve even more.
Sensei Pro has been professionally translated into 16 languages and can also be contributed to by anyone.
